I love analyzing contemporary legal, policy, business and gender issues to provide expert opinion and advice.
Sylvia Horname Noagbesenu-Nutsukpui is a lawyer with a highly- proficient and practical expertise in international human rights law and a certified specialist in Social Policy Studies. Over 19 years of building my career, I have acquired extensive knowledge and skills in very specific areas including providing legal advice, conducting legal research, engaging in policy analysis, advocacy and capacity building activities in international human rights law, rule of law processes, gender equality and women’s empowerment initiatives.
A Human Rights Lawyer
I began my career as a lawyer by providing legal advice, legal opinions and written submissions on different array of legal issues to clients - individuals, companies as well as national, regional and international institutions around human rights law. I advocated for the justiciability of economic, social and cultural rights and provided strategic legal advice to institutions and governments on the domestication of international and regional human rights frameworks into national laws, policies and institutions.


A Social Policy Specialist
My regional and international work related experiences started in 2004, a year after I graduated from the law school with the globally recognized non-profit, the Geneva headquartered Centre on Housing Rights and Evictions (COHRE). I gained extensive experience working with modern concepts of Non Governmental Organization (NGO), project design, development and management as well as research and evaluation in NGO sector.
A Gender Equality Expert
As a Gender Expert, I worked to ensure fairness and equality between women and men, girls and boys to access resources, responsibilities and opportunities, I spent a considerable number of years of my career advising national and regional institutions, coordinating national and regional advocacy programmes on gender equality and advocating for gender sensitive laws, policies, structures and programmes.


A Strategic Planner and Stakeholder Engagement Facilitator
Sylvia Horname Noagbesenu-Nutsukpui has built very specific expertise in strategic planning processes, project development and management, monitoring and evaluation and stakeholder engagement processes for government institutions, private businesses, startups as well as public companies and institutions. It is very exciting to mention that all of these have resulted into impactful improvement of all the performance indicators for the institutions I have supported.
A Community Activist
Passionate about changing lives, building communities and transforming societies, I also spent the early part of my career supporting and guiding communities in different parts of Africa to organize and establish relevant community structures, strengthen their voices and build resilience against discriminatory practices. I worked with communities especially women to lobby local authorities to improve the living conditions of community members.
